3+ Years

Our preschool room is designed to support your child while preparing for their preschool and school years. More children start day care in this age bracket than any other, they are busy and independent and are learning about their own opinions by testing the boundaries. They start to have more interest in other children, and we focus on helping develop and nurture friendships, while providing support to reach their developmental milestones for their age group.

Development Needs

The activities that we plan for this age group have an element of both working alone and group play to help build confidence and social skills. Working in groups will also facilitate friendships while encouraging care and respect for each other. Staff will work to develop the children’s self-esteem by encouraging them to complete as many daily tasks on their own as possible.

With this age group, we work to a more school-based routine, to get your child used to the type of structure that they will experience in a school setting. There are key developmental milestones for this age group that allow them to make the transition to school an easier one and our staff will observe each child to identify areas that may need additional attention, providing support where needed.

For this age group, we focus on getting the children more involves at mealtimes, talking to them about different foods and where they come from. Understanding food and how it fuels the body is important for children so that they understand why they are being asked to eat at certain times during the day.

“I have worked along side Evelyn for years. Evelyn has looked after my child and is amazing at what she does, wishing you all the best.”
