2-3 Years

This is the age that your child really starts to learn about themselves, what they like and do not like. During this time, as they try to make sense of the world, their vision of the world is a combination of both real and imagined. This is an important age to provide stimulation and learning through play to help them understand how the world works and to help them establish boundaries as they become increasingly more confident and vocal.

Development Needs

Each child’s individuality is an important part of them learning who we are. Every child meets their developmental milestones at different times and in different ways and our staff are here to support each child and celebrate their achievements with them. Staff will observe each child to provide support as they move through their developmental milestones and will create challenges to suit capability.

Toddlers will enjoy a range of activities with a focus on sensory play, including art activities and play dough, as well as puzzles and shape and sort toys. Each day there will be interaction as a group using books, songs and rhymes, which helps to build confidence and self- esteem.

Sleeping

Sleep time is optional for this age group, there will be a comfy, quiet area that is designed so each child will have their own bed and bedding for sleeping.

Toilet Training

Toilet training is an important milestone for this age group. We will be led by the child and parent with regards to this and our highly trained staff will watch out for signs and language indicating that the child is ready for this stage.
